Tofurkey Beer Brats: How you can eat beer while you drink beer!
Flavor: This is one of the best tasting mock meat items I've tried. Though I don't taste much of the beer, they do have a slightly sweet and spiced taste. Very meaty and satisfying, great with sauteed peppers and onions!
Texture: They are soft and don't have much bite to them, but could definitely fool an unsuspecting meat-eater.
Appearance: The only weird thing about these guys are their color. They are gray. They brown well in a pan and also(as the package claims) turn out great on the grill. You do need some oil on these or the outside burns quickly.
Hola, Trader Joe's Soy Chorizo: Una fiesta en tu boca.
Flavor: Spicy and salty - everything you love about chorizo, minus the meat. Adds great flavor to recipes and perfect for a breakfast tofu scramble or papas y chorizo tacos.
Texture: Since this is made of TVP, it is very crumbly so don't expect to be able to slice it. On the same note, its crumbly, ground beef-like texture allows it to blend seamlessly into any recipe.
Appearance:Its bright red/orange color and orange "grease" really makes it look like meat, and adds color to any spicy dish. Another great product that could easily pull the cruelty-free wool over the eyes of an omnivore.
